Punctum

Both this images, I believe have a very strong punctum. The first photograph taken for an edition of National Geographic portrays a girl with astonishing eyes, which is the first impression one gets of the photograph. At first glance she might simply look like an exotic girl, however, the girl's expression in her eyes and overall looks-the dirty face and torn clothes-portray a conflicting story in  her life. The second photograph is about child soldiers in Africa. it is astonishing for me, not the dead bodies in the background but the smile on the boys' faces-the loss of inoncense
